Frequently asked questions

Common questions about our weighing equipment and services.

Calibration

How often should a weighbridge be calibrated?

Calibration frequency depends on how heavily the weighbridge is used, site conditions, and local legal-metrology requirements. Many operators calibrate on a regular scheduled interval and after any major service or relocation. We can recommend a schedule for your specific equipment and usage.

General

How can I contact Caliber Scales for a quote or support?

You can call us on +91-9811156815 (WhatsApp +91-9811156814), email info@caliberscales.com, or send an enquiry through the contact form on this website. Tell us your application — vehicle types, capacities, or the materials you weigh — and our team will recommend the right equipment and provide a quote, usually the same business day.

What products does Caliber Scales manufacture?

Caliber Scales manufactures a complete range of industrial weighing equipment — electronic weighbridges (surface mounted, pit type, instant mobile, track, and unmanned), platform scales, customised tank and vessel weighing systems, crane and hanging scales, high-precision analytical balances, table-top scales, and logistics/dimensioning scales. We also build customised and automation solutions such as conveyor weighing systems.

Service & support

Do you provide installation, calibration, and service?

Yes. As a manufacturer we support the full lifecycle — site survey and civil/foundation guidance, installation and commissioning, calibration, repair, AMC (annual maintenance contracts), and software integration. A dedicated team of experienced, trained service engineers provides after-sales support across India.

Weighbridges

What weighbridge capacity do I need?

Caliber weighbridges are available from 5 MT to 100 MT. The right capacity is set by the heaviest fully loaded vehicle you will weigh, plus a sensible safety margin, and the platform must be long enough for your longest vehicles. Tell us your vehicle types and typical loads and we will recommend the right capacity and platform size.

What is a pitless weighbridge?

A pitless weighbridge — also called a surface mounted weighbridge — is an above-ground truck scale mounted on a raised foundation with approach ramps, so no pit needs to be excavated. It is quick to install, easier to clean and maintain, and well suited to sites with drainage or groundwater concerns.

What is a weighbridge?

A weighbridge — also called a truck scale or Dharam Kanta — is a large weighing machine that measures the total weight of a vehicle and its load. Unlike axle weighers or weighing pads that measure pressure on individual wheels or axles, a weighbridge weighs the whole vehicle at once as it stands on the platform. Caliber weighbridges are available from 5 MT to 100 MT in surface mounted, pit type, instant mobile, track, and unmanned configurations.

What is a Dharam Kanta?

Dharam Kanta is the common Indian term for a weighbridge — a weighing instrument long used to measure the weight of road and rail vehicles and their loads. A modern electronic Dharam Kanta works just like any weighbridge; the vehicle stands on a platform supported by load cells, which measure the total weight and show it on a digital indicator.
